About Us

Zananiri Leather Co. (renamed from Lineage Leather) goods are handmade to harness creativity and honor the timeless tradition of leather craft. These goods are not of the utmost necessity; rather, they are remnants of shared creativity that can grow and age into resonant pieces of life - an idea inspired by a master leather craftsman, Colonel Littleton.

Founded on the cusp of a trip out east to visit family and close friends. Amidst the clarity of the North Carolina air, I requested a collaboration with the matriarch of the family to craft an envelope-inspired piece. See, four years of Business School had left me creatively deprived; so, I sought an outlet. Lineage was born. After a successful first project, it would be the collaboration with a close friend to design a guitar strap (no. 1 - photo below) that would bring the idea to reality.

My name is Jonathan-Blake E. Zananiri, and I am the current and sole craftsman behind Zananiri Leather Co. (Lineage). Throughout my teen years, the aroma of leather had permeated the household through my mother’s creative endeavors; it wouldn’t be too much longer before I picked up the tools. I seek to honor the generations before us, after us, and the ones with us now. The attempt to do so is by cultivating bridging relationships from one generation to another as I was inspired my mother, a leather-maker before me, so - Lineage. I am married to the most beautiful and wonderful bride, Briana, and I look forward to when I can pass on my tools to our sons (unless they don't want to).

Each piece is numbered, with the exception of a few projects here and there, to uniquely identify and track the journey of my progress. There are many great leather-makers whose level of skill I aspire to, but I am grateful for the process. By visiting any one of the social media outlets, you can look all the way back to no. 1 (below) till now to witness the growth as I have pursued this trade.
